‘Warrior Savitri’ makers blamed for hurting religious sentiments

The upcoming contemporary movie ‘Warrior Savitri’ has landed in trouble just before its release and this is related to its story plot. The movie has been criticised for showing the Hindu goddess (Savitri) as a 21st century woman. The things have even turned worst in cities like Raipur and Ludhiana where the effigies bearing the image of Param Gill were burnt. It is also heard director Gill’s personal site was recently hacked. He has also received threats for the same. However, Gill has defended the allegation and said, "I was inspired by the Nirbhaya case. I think women need to empower themselves. They should learn martial arts for self-defence."
