'Take Off’s win at IFFI is a recognition for tales rooted in reality, says Mahesh Narayanan

Mahesh Narayan's 'Take Off' has won big at the recently concluded International Film Festival of India (IFFI) making the whole of M'town proud. The movie, which sketched the life of Sameera, a Malayali nurse battling crisis in the war-torn Iraq, bagged a Special Jury Award while its lead actress Parvathy wen to on to bag the Best Actress Award. Mahesh Narayan on winning the big award for his directorial debut says, "It's creatively and personally satisfying. It was so great to be part of the competition section with such brilliant films. With a survival movie based on true stories of nurses winning two awards, I believe it's a recognition for rooted tales of real-life people."
