Supreme Court Orders A Smooth Release Of Nanak Shah Fakir

Nanak Shah Fakir is the first film to ever be made on the life of Guru Nanak Dev, and some Sikh groups have been protesting the release of the film even after it was certified by the CBFC. Passing a judgement on the matter, the supreme court said "Once the certificate is granted (by CBFC), unless it is nullified by a superior authority, the producer has every right to exhibit the film in movie halls. Any obstruction has the potential to bring anarchy and cripple the right of freedom of expression". The film is set to release on 13th April.
