The controversial movie PM Narendra Modi has been banned from screening due to the Lok Sabha Elections of 2019. On April 10, just a day before its release date, the Election Commission ordered the stoppage of the release of the biopic till elections conclude. Senior Advocate Mukul Rohatgi, arguing for the producer said that the EC took a cue from the apex court's order and stopped the release of the film without even watching it. While EC revealed that it received complaints regarding the movie that it either diminish or advance the electoral prospect of a candidate or a political party. However, today the Supreme Court asked the EC to watch the film and then take a call on whether to stop the screening or not.
