In a recent newspaper report, directors Siddique and Jibu Jacob spoke against the demands put forward by the exhibitors which have resulted in the current cinema strike. As per the report, Siddique said that asking for 50:50 theater share is robbery and this can never be agreed upon. He also mentioned that not releasing his film, Fukri, has resulted in a huge amount of loss for the producers, which includes himself. While Jibu Jacob commented that that demand of equal theater share to that of multiplexes can't be justified as single screens can't compare the service they provide to the audience to that of the multiplexes. He added that his movie, Munthirivallikal Thalirkkumbol was charted for X'mas release aiming at that the big opening that the festive times give but this strike has ended up their efforts in the drain.
