C/o Kancharapalam, the acclaimed village drama released last year wowed the audience. Helmed by debutant director Venkatesh Maha the film is bankrolled by Praveena Paruchuri. Shockingly, the film is deemed by the Indian National Film Awards committee and was rejected for getting nominated for the National Award. The reason behind this is producer Praveena being an NRI although of Indian origin. Taking to twitter Praveena apologized the director as his hard work was not recognized because of her. Responding to this Venkatesh tweeted that it is not the fault of her, but of the outdated rules and regulations of our country. He also tagged the Directorate of Film Festivals stating that it is time for a change.
