Kaithi producers file complaint, Mollywood film in trouble
Kaithi, Kollywood's Diwali 2019 release, was a blockbuster not just in Tamail Nadu but also in the neighboring Telugu states and Kerala. Lokesh Kangaraj's film starring Kaithi was backed by Dream Warrior Pictures. Noted Mollywood banner Street Line Cinemas had distributed the film in Kerala. However, Kaithi producers are quite miffed as the banner had not yet settled the profits reaped in Kerala. A complaint was filed by them and karma has played its part. Now, as per reports, Street Line Cinemas Mollywood project Djinn starring Soubin Shahir has been stayed by the Madras High Court. Djinn is directed by Sidharth Bharathan known for films like Nidra, Chandrettan Evideya and Varnyathil Aashanka.
