I was quite skeptical initially: Rahman on taking up his gangster role in Ranam

Prithviraj's gangster flick Ranam directed by scribe Nirmal Sahadev is gearing up to hit screens soon. The film set in Detroit has Rahman appearing in a pivotal role as a Sri Lankan gangster named Damodar. The actor recently divulged in an interview that he was initially very skeptical about the role and was afraid to take it up as attempting a sudden image transition is risky for actors. However, he decided to give it a shot, armed with the confidence the team gave. "I am happy with Ranam and now, I am banking on the broadmindedness of Malayali audience,” said Rahman who is donning a character with dark shade for the first time in Mollywood.
