TV stars switching to the silver screen is not a new thing in Tollywood. However, not all of them gets a dream launch pad like Yash Dasgupta. The actor who rose to fame playing Aranya Singha Roy in 'Bojhe Na Se Bojhena' has got a successful director like Birsa Dasgupta and Venkatesh Films to make his debut big. In last few years, most of the newcomers in commercial Bangla cinema had to debut with remakes but Yash became an exception. 'Gangster' is an original script penned down by Shweta Bharadwaj and Manish Sharma. While talking about the same the actor reveals, “I am not against remakes but if I have to work in remakes, it should be better than the original one. I am glad that I am starting off with an original subject. I have been involved with the film since the scripting stage.” 'Gangster' also stars Mimi Chakraborty as the female lead opposite Dasgupta.
