While N. T. R. as Lord Venkateshwara in the film Sri Venkateshwara Mahathyam hogs limelight, it is Chittor Nagaiah who gives the thumping climactic portions of the film a soul with his inimitable performance as Saint Bhavaji who plays dice with the Lord. Nagaiah is the first of Indian actors to use method acting technique. Rather than performing a role, he becomes it. Interestingly but unsurprisingly the first superstar from South Indian Cinema, Nagaiah, trumps N. T. R. in the combination scenes as Lord Balaji and the devotee. In one particular scene where we see sparks of utter bliss when he sees the Lord coming to his place it is hard to believe Nagaiah is an actor and not Saint Bhavaji. Natanagresara Moment.
