Noted director and screen writer Ranjith shared his unpleasant experiences when he had to deal with the officials of Animal Welfare Board during the release of Mohanlal starrer Drama. The film had a scene that included horses pulling a carriage during a funeral. The film shot in UK had used the horses of a native there. Yet, the crew had to get clearance from Animal Welfare Board at Faridabad. Ranjith said that the officials demanded 5 lakhs to give a clearance as animals were used in the film. He says that as the release date grew closer, procuring the certificate became cumbersome and the crew had to delete the beautifully shot scene.
