Pudhupettai, the highly talked about gangster film from sibling duo - Selvaraghavan-Dhanush is celebrating 14 years. The film depicts low life than glamorising the crime and it is for this reason and excessive violence it received mixed response from the critics when it was released. The film may sound loud, unapologetic in portrayal of different characters, has enough cringe-worthy moments but ultimately it is made with brains and respects the audience. The hero-character is not someone you would fall in love with. He is visceral, cane from the lower rungs of the society and would do anything to save his skin - survival is foremost to him. The film is more about the painful truth - crime does pay.
