Aparna Sen calls Ghawre Baire Aaj her most political and outspoken film

Aparna Sen's Ghawre Baire Aaj, a modern-day adaptation of classic political novel Ghawre Baire written by Rabindranath Tagore will be out in August. Staying honest to the original theme, the movie will deal with the current socio-political state of the nation. According to the renowned actress turned filmmaker, this is the most political and outspoken film she has ever made. Nikhilesh's character in the film is loosely based on Gauri Lankesh, she revealed. According to her, both Hindutva and Islamic fundamentalism have silenced the voices of reason and moderation and it is a big concern for democracy. Ghawre Baire Aaj will see how the outside world affects the home.
