A petition has been filed against Vidhu Vinod Chopra's Shikara

A public interest litigation (PIL) is filed  in the Jammu and Kashmir High Court against Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s upcoming film Shikara demanding a stay on the release of the movie based on Kashmiri Pandit exodus from the Kashmir Valley in late 1989 and early 1990. The petitioners Iftikhar Misgar , Majid Hyderi , and Irfan Hafiz Lone also demanded the removal of certain scenes and have alleged that the film portrays unreal facts about Kashmir and Kashmiri Pandits and shows the valley's Muslims in the negative night. Film's director Vidhu Vinod Chopra reacted on the news with a social media post. "Our counsel Harish Salve will take appropriate  steps as may be  required, " he cleared.
