Srijit's magnum opus Zulfiqar is the modern-day film adaptation of Julius Caeser and Antony Cleopatra. Zulfiqar Ahmed (Prosenjit) is the most influential figure of Syndicate - a powerful organization which handles and manipulates the business and other affairs in the dock area of the city. Basheer Khan (Kaushik Sen), Zulfiqar's best friend is also a member of Syndicate is a nationalist. Bashir is against terrorism. Tony Braganza (Parambrata) and Markaz Ali (Dev) have grown up together and are absolutely inseparable. Tony is the brain of the team, who takes care of the financial part of the Syndicate while Markaz is its muscle. Zulfiqar is married to Karishma Ahmed (Paoli) but he has an affair with Rani (Nusrat), who is in love with Markaz.
Then there are people who want to reduce Zulfiqar's influence on the Syndicate. Among them, Kashinath Kundu (Jisshu Sengupta) is an ambitious and scheming man who comes up with a master plan to throw Zulfiqar out of Syndicate. He started to manipulate the Syndicate members and his prime target is Bashir Khan, the closest friend of Zulfiqar whom he turns against him. Bashir started to believe that Zulfiqar is bringing terrorism to his city and murdered him. What happens next is a series of murders and an unbelievable power play follows the killing.
