Yuddham Sharanam Review & Rating|
There has been much hoopla and excitement surrounding the movie 'Yuddham Sharanam.' It has been promoted as an action thriller and did impress everyone with its trailer. The movie starts off on a pleasant note with everything family and peaceful around. But, once hell breaks loose, it no more holds you back to the seat as every character is racing against time except the movie's story. Debutant Krishna succeeds in churning out an interesting plot but faltered at junctures to hold the interests of the audience throughout.
The story revolves around Arjun (Naga Chaitanya), who is in search of his parents. They have gone missing all of sudden after their 30th wedding anniversary. On the other side NIA on the look out after the culprits who were responsible for a series of bomb blasts. The rest revolves around how Arjun finds out the truth about his parents and what happened to them during their missing days. Naga Chaitanya as Arjun impresses with a matured performance. Srikanth, though has a restricted role looks furious but writers lacked depth in his character. Rest of the cast was impressive and have done justice to their roles.
The departments that impressed big time were cinematography and music score. Telugu industry has found a new and an extremely talented cinematographer in the form of Niketh Bommireddy who has played with lights in the nights and under water as well. After 'Pellichoopulu' Vivek Sagar has impressed big time with his intriguing BGM and the songs that never felt forced. Production values of Varahi were pretty impressive. The only draw back was if the twist weren't revealed too early. It kind of gives a sense of deja vu and thus restricting the excitement in watching a thriller. Else, it can be considered as the best action film of Naga Chaitanya till date.
Verdict: The movie has its high points especially at the interval, but post the interval, it mellows down which puts you into a daze. If you don't sit with a critic mind and want to watch an entertainer that isn't loud with punch dialogues induced in a stereotyped format, this could make for a decent watch over the weekend. Give it a shot!
