Dear Comrade received mixed response from the critics and theatrical audience and went on to become a rare dud commercially for a Vijay Deverakonda film. The performances of the lead actors, the empowering plot point that comes at the end and the making style of director Bharat Kamma received plaudits from one and all. The movie become an instant hit with streaming watchers when released online.
