Valmiki is the Telugu remake of Tamil hit flick Jigarthanda which features Siddharth, Lakshmi Menon and Bobby Simha in the lead roles. Released in 2014, Jigarthanda is written and helmed by Karthik Subbaraj. The Telugu remake Valmiki is helmed by Harish Shankar and features Mega prince Varun Tej as the main lead.

Ram Achanta and Gopi Achanta are jointly bankrolling the film under 14 Reels Plus banner. Rockstar Devi Sri Prasad is scoring music for the film. Chota K Prasad is the editor, Avinesh Kolla is the art director, and Ayananka Bose is cranking camera for the film. Nandi Award stunt choreographer duo Ram Laxman is choreographing the action sequences of the film.
