Uri: The Surgical Strike Story

Uri: The Surgical Strike tells the story of the terrorist attack in Uri military base and the Surgical Strike that followed in retaliation by the Indian Army. It follows the acts of daredevilry of Major Vihaan Singh Shergill, PARA SF, Team Leader. The movie starts with Vihaan and his team which includes his brother in law Major Karan Kashyap infiltrating National Socialist Council of Nagaland (NSCN militants) when Indian army men were ambushed by them. Vihaan's team kills one of the key leaders of the NSCN.
In the ensuing meeting with the Prime Minister of India who congratulates the team, Vihaan reveals that he is thinking of retiring so that he could be with his ailing mother. But the Prime Minister arranges for him to be with his mother who is suffering from stage VI Alzheimer's by getting him posted in a desk job in the National Capital Region (Delhi).
Vihaan's mother is nursed by Jasmine d'Almeida who in reality is an Indian intelligence officer who is sent to protect the military men who are potential targets of North Eastern terrorists. As his life is moving on smoothly, his life encounters a jolting shock when Pakistani terrorists attack Indian brigade in Uri, Kashmir and kill army men who are in deep sleep. But this being a New India, Indian Government endorses a surgical strike on the Pakistani terrorist bases in retaliation.
Vihaan who experienced a personal loss because of that attack when his brother-in-law lost his life, offers to take part in the Surgical Strike operation and also to train the other participants. He is aided with intelligence by Jasmine who reveals her real name as Pallavi Sharma and Flight lieutenant Seerat Kaur, an IAF Officer. How with the expert guidance of the NSA Govind Bhardwaj and General Arjun Singh Rajawat, the team carries out the surgical strike form the rest of the story.
Uri: The Surgical Strike received generally positive reviews and went on to become one of the all-time blockbusters in Indian Cinema in recent times. The movie ran for more than 60 days and was very much loved by the audience. The dialogue from the movie... How's the josh? High sir! went viral and has become part of everyday conversations. The performances of the artists and the direction are praised by one and all.
