Tu Hai Mera Sunday Review & Rating
‘Tu Hai Mera Sunday’ is a story of five friends that look for a place to play football in the crowded city of Mumbai but there is so much more happening under the surface. Directed by Milind Dhaimade, the film stars Barun Sobti, Shahana Goswami, Pallavi Batra, Rasika Dugal, Vishal Malhotra, Suhas Ahuja and Jay Upadhyay among others and is produced by Varun Shah.
The actors do an amazing job at making the film look realistic and every performance is commendable. Vishal Malhotra and Sahas Ahuja play brothers and get every aspect of that relationship right. When the male actors in this film play vulnerable characters, it is the women of the film that provide strength and support.
Director Milind Dhaimade takes inspiration from the Tv shows of the late 90’s and early 2000’s for telling his story. This is a low budget film that makes the most of what it can get, and the director knows how to get the best performances out of his cast.
Verdict: 'Tu Hai Mera Sunday' is a film that focuses most on it's characters more than anything else. The performances and direction, along with the use of real locations instead of sets works in favor of the film. This indie film is definitely worth a watch.
