Mahashay Bhagavan, a godman, orders Pattabhiraman Giri to leave his house to build an ashram there. Although he gets warned about going against the godman, he chooses to fight. The godman poisons Giri's young daughter and she dies. The village fooled by godman's fake miracles joins him. His house is attacked and he is boycotted from entering the house.
He goes in search of a stranger who had earlier warned him about the godman and promised help if need be. Jameel tells Giri the stranger is Azlan Muhammed who is transformed man fulfilling dharma in life. Giri realizes that he possesses powers and certain incidents win the favor of the villagers and cause distress to the godman who is losing people's favor.
The godman decides to prove his power in front of people and challenges Giri to do the same. But he gets a vision of Azlan making him weak while performing the fake miracle he has planned to do and dies while performing.
Tiyaan was one of the much hyped up Malayalam films of 2017. At the end of its theatrical run, the movie turned out to be a flop with a highly disappointing box office figure.
