Tishnagi Review & Rating
Tishnagi is a crime drama film starring Aryan Vaid, Anushka Srivastava, Kaveri Priyam and Sapna Rathod and Rajpal Yadav in the lead roles. It tells the story of a young man named Karan who moves to the city of Mumbai to work as a computer engineer and immediately impresses his female boss. As he is leaving the office, he runs into Rahul and saves his life by beating up the goons that were after him. Karan drops Rahul at his home where Rahul’s sister tells them that their computer is broken. Karan, being a computer engineer, fixes the computer and impresses Rahul’s sister.
We then find out that Karan, is in fact, a serial killer that kills any woman that taunts him by stabbing them with a small knife and we are also shown that Rahul is a police inspector, who is being pressured by his higher officials to catch this serial killer. This forms the basic crux of the story and the film moves on from here.
The acting performances are very bad and belong in a low graded television show. Qais Tanvee, who plays Karan, is supposed to give a scary performance as a serial killer but it turns out to be unintentionally funny. Aryan Vaid, the popular television actor, has not been given much to do but makes the best of what he has in the script. Anushka Srivastava, Kaveri Priyam and Sapna Rathod have absolutely nothing to do in this film and fail to show their acting chops. Rajpal Yadav has a blink-and-you-miss cameo which is very forgettable.
The story and screenplay are very convoluted and do not make sense at all. The songs do not have a specific genre and seem like they have been lifted from various other Hindi movies and put together in this slow and boring film, making it longer than it has to be.
Verdict: Tishnagi fails at every level. Should be missed.
