Thondimuthalum Driksaashiyum Story

Prasad, one day, sees Sreeja who is the daughter of an acquaintance, buying a pregnancy test kit from a medical shop. Worried that the unmarried girl is into some sort of trouble, he informs it to her father. It is later revealed that she bought it for her married sister. The incident annoys Sreeja. But the initial brawl between Prasad and Sreeja give way to love. However, Sreeja's family opposes her relationship and their increasing abuse forces the couple to get married at the register office very quickly. After marriage, Sreeja and Prasad rent out a house in North Kasargode. 

On a bus journey, Sreeja's gold chain gets stolen. She accuses the man who sitting behind her of the theft. The bus is taken to the nearest police station. Police questions the accused whose name is revealed to be Prasad. Sreeja vows that she saw him swallowing the chain but Prasad denies it. Police decide to keep Prasad in custody and Prasad, Sreeja's husband, is also asked to stay back. Later during the medical examination, the chain is found stuck inside his Parad's stomach.

Prasad tries to settle the case out of court to which Sreeja and her husband didn't agree. He tries to make an escape and the rest of the film is filled with intriguing incidents that lead up to a complex situation for everyone including the couples, the thief, and even for the police.

Thondimuthalum Driksashiyum marked Dileesh Pothan's second directorial venture after Maheshinte Prathikaram. The film won National Award for Best Feature Film in Malayalam while Fahadh Faasil was awarded Best Supporting actor and Sajeev Pazhoor bagged the award for the best original screenplay. The movie also won two State Awards awards.
