'Thiruttu Payale 2' created a lot of hype with its trailers and a controversy around Amala Paul's navel. The movie features Bobby Simha, Prasanna and Amala Paul in the lead roles and all of them are out of form since few days and are in need of a big hit. Is 'Thiruttu Payale 2' that one film all of them are looking for? Let's see. The story begins with the introduction of a police officer Selvam (played by Bobby Simha) and he comes through a case where he has to tap a mysterious caller Balki (played by Prasanna). Thiruttu Payale is one rare kind of movie where every lead actor has a well-written role. The best thing it all of them doing justice to their roles with terrific performances. Bobby Simha shines in an author-backed role and performs with utmost naturality and ease. Prasanna does a fine job and makes his 25th movie a memorable one for him. Amala Paul as Agalvilakku gets a meaty role this time and she impresses with both her looks and performance. Vivek, Robo Shankar, and VJ Adams were okay in their roles.

'Thiruttu Payale 2' scores big in the technical department. The camerawork is superb as the cinematographer P Chelladurai captures the film brilliantly. Editing is fine but the sound department walks away with grace marks and they deserve a special mention. Production values are adequate and so was the art direction. As one expects from Susi Ganesan, he comes up with a realistic storyline and weaves a gripping screenplay with terrific performances. The issue he addressed is a much-needed one for today's youth.

November has been a good month for Kollywood and Thiruttu Payale 2 gives it a perfect end. Coming as a sequel to a superhit and living up to the expectations is not an easy thing but one can do it with a gripping screenplay and performances, proved the team of Thiruttu Payale 2. The first 45 minutes of the film is just okay as the director takes his own sweet time to set up the story and characters. Right from the breathtaking pre-interval till the climax he has written a water-tight screenplay with mind games between Bobby Simha and Prasanna.

The performances from the lead cast are superb and their honest performances are the major reason the movie looks so novel. Bobby Simha is back to form and he steals the show and Prasanna is too good as an actor. Amala Paul does justice to her role. Finally, Thiruttu Payale 2 is a well-made sequel which is worth watching. Watch It!
