Thackeray

Thackeray is a biopic based on Maharashtra’s Shiv Sena leader late Balasaheb Thackeray. The biopic talks about the life and times of the late leader who started off as a cartoonist and how he came into the limelight by floating his own newspaper and party and how he contributed towards the upliftment of the people of Maharashtra state.

The film also throws light upon his role during the Bombay riots and blasts that took place in 1993. The lead role of Balasaheb Thackeray is being portrayed by Nawazuddin Siddiqui while Amrita Rao played the role of his wife, Meena Tai Thackeray. The biopic is being directed by Abhijit Panse and is produced by Sanjay Raut who also penned the script of this film. Sreenath Bhasi composed the musical score of this film. 

Thackeray will release worldwide on 25 January 2019.
