Silly Fellows Review: Stale Comedy
Allari Naresh, Sunil, and Bheemineni Srinivasa Rao joined hands with the remake of a Tamil film. They tried to come up with an absurd comedy. One interesting thread that united these three is their faltering careers. All the three are in flops. Let's see how it works out for their faltering careers with Silly Fellow review.
The story of Silly Fellows revolves around a group of people who work for their own benefits which results in comic situations. The story of the film starts with Veera Babu marrying Pushpa because Soori Babu manipulated him so. Why Soori Babu manipulated him? Because Soori Babu wants to become an MLA when the current MLA of the constituency becomes a minister. So, to impress the MLA, Soori Babu does this so as to make the MLA's marriage scheme a success.
Soori Babu also gives 10 lakhs to the MLA to secure a job for his lover. But unfortunately, the minister aspiring MLA meets with an accident and goes into a coma. Just before the accident, the current minister tells this MLA a secret of Rs. 500 crores and asks him to utilize it for the people. A crook played by Posani Krishna Murali comes to know about the 500 crores. How the MLA gets recovered, how Soori babu's ambition fulfills, and what happens to the forced marriage of Veera Babu and Pushpa form the rest of the story.
Allari Naresh is decent in the role of a rural manipulator. But how can an MLA's seat be vacated when he becomes a minister? Silly point number 1. How can a person who goes into a coma wakes up with the mentality of a 10-year-old? Okay. Maybe. But are the current generation of 10 years olds who play with various gadgets (albeit in a village like the one portrayed in this movie) chew a lollipop and do silly antics like running after mithaay? The director failed to understand the psyche of the current gen children.
Sunil returns back to play comedy roles again and his timing in dialogues is good. But acting-wise, he stuck up in the past. Lot has changed in the past 15 years. The heroines are not even utilized as props. Their roles are wasted for the most part. Brahmanandam tried to light up the few scenes he was in but the role is not properly written. It is sad to watch such a legendary comedian's role is not properly handled.
The direction also stuck up in the past. The screenplay is a mess. The beauty of humor lies in its subtlety, and if you have to spell out a joke, it's rarely funny. Bheemaneni Srinivas Rao's latest comic caper Silly Fellows loud and over-the-top with lazy writing and crass humor. For a film which has a series of talented comedians, it falls way off the mark and makes you cringe.
There is nothing to write about on the music (though the two songs look something like catchy) and cinematography. Editing is chaotic. Production values are mediocre. It seems that the movie is made on a very low budget. Silly Fellow is a disappointing fare from the veterans of the fare.

The movie is full of comedy allari nareshand Sunil combination is so nice it's an comedy entertainer all can watch this film
Silly Fellows is a comedy entertainer starring Allari Naresh and Sunil in the lead roles. This film is a sort of comeback film from them as they have been trying hard to deliver a hit for a long time now. Directed by Bheemineni Srinivas who is a fairly experienced director known for his comedy movies, the film has released today. The initial response from the audience is a bit positive with routine story and formulaic screenplay being said as the drawbacks.
However, the audience are happy to see a good film finally from Naresh and Sunil. The comedy timing of lead actors Sunil and Naresh is said to be the major highlight of this slapstick comedy entertainer. Jayaprakash's episode is said to be yet another highlight of the film. Though there is nothing new or unique about the film, the film works majorly because of well executed comedy scenes. The comedy in the first half is said to be hilarious while the second half could've been better. Silly Fellows is the remake of Tamil film Velainu Vandhutta Vellaikaaran and Bheemineni who has remade many movies in the past seems to have dealt perfectly with this film as well.
