Shubh Mangal Saavdhan Review & Rating|
'Shubh Mangal Saavdhan' is a film directed by R.S. Prasanna who also directed the original Tamil version 'Kalyana Samayal Saadham'. The film stars Ayushmann Khurrana and Bhoomi Pednekar in the lead roles and is produced by Aanand L. Rai. The music of the film has been composed by Tanishk Bagchi and Vayu.
Ayushmann Khurrana who was last seen in 'Bareilly Ki Barfi' is portraying the role of a small town boy in this film too but he has done a far better job in this film because of the unusual premise. Bhoomi Pednekar who is hugely successful after 'Toilet: Ek Prem Katha' shines here too and her chemistry with the actor is brilliant because of their work together in a previous film 'Dum Laga Ke Haisha'.
The director of the film tries to capture the daily life of a north Indian family but portrays them as too loud and emotional. There are some cameos in the film that do not have any context and the cinematography is dry and gets boring at times. The film is set in Delhi and Haridwar and the locations are captured beautifully.
Verdict: 'Shubh Mangal Saavdhan' is a pleasant surprise and the film covers a topic that has never been covered in Bollywood before. The performances by the actors are realistic and will strike a chord with the crowd. This film by R.S. Prasanna is definitely worth a watch.
