Director Pratim D. Gupta's first thriller movie Shantilal O Projapoti Rohosyo revolves around a staff reporter called Shantilal Bhattacharya. The movie will see Ritwick Chakraborty and Paoli Dam sharing screen one more time. The script was before titled Ink.

The film revolves around Shantilal Bhattacharya, a reporter mostly doing the weather report. Not happy with his thankless and monotonous job, he somehow gets a lead about the mysterious background of superstar Nandini, who is all set to start her political career. To solve the mystery Shantilal flies to Singapore and many ugly truths started to unfold in front of him.
