Rosapoo Review & Rating|
Vinu Joesph's Rosapoo starring Biju Menon and Neeraj Madhav is touted to be a dark comedy. And to validate the tag, it has an ensemble cast of reliable comedy actors starting from Soubin Shahir to Salim Kumar and Vijayaraghavan appearing prominent roles. Tollywood actress Anjali and Kannada actress Shilpa Manjunath also form the part of the cast as the leading ladies. The plot of Rosapoo revolves around two guys who set out to find their fortune in filmmaking. Here is at length how a good watch Rosapoo turns out to be.
Shajahan and Ambros played respectively by Biju Menon and Neeraj Madhav are two youngsters who drowned neck deep in debts. They try different businesses without any luck in their struggle make both ends meet. And finally, as per the advice of a friend, the duo set out to try their hand at filmmaking. The rest of the movie is about how they manage to realize their new goal and the obstacles they have to overcome.
There is only very little an actor can do when the movie is hopeless in terms of story, direction, and other technicalities. And unfortunately, Rosapoo turns out to be one such movie. Biju Meon who is exceptionally good at handling comedy roles, struggles in his role to strike a chord. So is rest of the cast except the leading lady Anjali who appears as an adult movie actress in the movie. Considering the space her character has been granted, the actress has delivered quite an amazing performance while the much-anticipated characters by Dileesh Pothen and Soubin Shahir disappoint one outright. The only saving grace of Rosapoo turns out to Biju Menon's occasional punchlines.
As aforementioned, there is nothing that can redeem a movie which is badly written. Rosapoo suffers from the same plight and ends up barely as a bland comedy that falls flat. Director Vinu Joseph fails to bring in any exciting or novel elements that would have kept one hooked to the familiar plot of Rosapoo. One of the biggest set back of the film is that it takes so much time to establish its lead characters and the premise, making it a very tiring watch for the audience. And again, once the premise is set and characters are established, it continues to be an uninspiring chronicle of rather forgettable incidents.
Final Verdict: Rasapoo is not one those Biju Menon movies which you would enjoy throughout. Sure there are some punchlines and good comedy but it comes at the cost of enduring an unbearable test of patience.

Rosapoo User Reviews
Vinu Joseph directorial #Rosapoo is rather a dark disaster as much as it is a comedy. With a badly written story which goes haywire from the very beginning, the movie is outright hopeless. The cast including lead actors Biju Menon, Neeraj Madhav, Soubin Shahir, Dileesh Pothen and Salim Kumar who tries to pull their respective characters with ease and jocularity, don't save it from breaking down, thanks to the director and the screenwriter. One thing that is enjoyable about the movie is the comedy scenes that come from time to time in the storyline. But as a movie, Rosapoo misses its mark. Thumbs-down!!
Rosapoo directed by Vinu Joseph stars Biju Menon and Neeraj Madhav in the lead roles. The movie is touted to dark comedy and the stellar cast of the movie which lines up some of the fine comedy actors like Salim Kumar, Alencier Ley Lopez, Dileesh Pothen, Sudheer Karamana, Soubin Shahir and Vijayaraghavan among many others clearly vouch for the movie. The trailer of the movie has been very impressive and the audience are anticipating yet another full-on comedy entertainer from Biju Menon. Rosapoo is finally opening on screens today and have a look at some of the initial reaction from the audience.
The audience reactions from the first show suggest this Biju Menon starrer is a lackluster affair with no punch. The first half of the movie, according to the viewers, falls flat and fails to hook the audience to the story. It is surprising that none of the initial reports from the theatres mention the performance of the cast which has many names to boast about. The only saving grace so far is said to be a few comedy scene that set a laughing spree in the theatres. However, we cannot simply annul the chance of Rosapoo redeeming itself in the second half. Let's see what second half has in store.
Looking at the initial reaction from the theatres, it is clear that highly anticipated Biju Menon Rosapoo fails to live up to the expectations of the viewers. Those who signed up for the movie excepting it to be a fun entertainer seems to be hopelessly disappointed and offended by it.
In short, Rosapoo, as per the audience, is a badly written poor story that disappoints. Nor the actors or the director could not save it from being a total dark disaster. Watch out this space for our Top Review and Critic Reviews of Rosapoo.
