Malayalam superstar Nivin Pauly’s first direct Tamil film ‘Richie’ is the remake of Kannada super hit film ‘Ulidavaru Kandante’. The film features an ensemble cast which includes Shraddha Srinath, Prakash Raj, Natty, and Lakshmi Priyaa Chandramouli. While Nivin Pauly appears as a local thug, Shraddha Srinath, his love-interest plays a journalist.

When it comes to the story, villagers of Manpad gather to celebrate Christmas in the presence of church father. In the procession, they discover an old treasure that opens a path to destruction. How four individuals, led by Richie, saved the village from the destruction forms the crux of the movie.
