Denny, Priyalal, and Shibu, who have been friends since their college day, open a beachside resort by investing all their hard-earned money on it. However, their plans to enjoy a semi-retired life in the early 30s is thwarted when they begin to feel paranormal activities. It is at the time they are introduced to John Don Bosco. John works as a mentalist in cruise ships and also assist the police as human lie dictator.
John through his intelligent and sharp methods finds out that the resort is haunted by a ghost who is seeking answers to who killed her, why was she killed and what did they gain by death. Later it is revealed that Ghost is a girl named Clara who was a bright and intelligent student from National Law College who has been cheated her classmate and killed herself in the face of humiliation.
John Don Bosco help the ghost to find her own story and he brings out the truth about the suicide of Clara. Denny, Priyalal, and Shibu start their business afresh and free of fear.
Pretham marked the third collaboration between director Rajinth Sankar and actor Jayasurya who are unarguably one of the most successful combos in the Mollywood today. The film is considered one of best works that have come out in the horror genre in Malayalam.
