Poster Boys Review & Rating|
‘Poster Boys’ marks the directorial debut of Shreyas Talpade who also stars in the film alongside Bobby Deol and Sunny Deol. The film is a comedy which is based on a real life story where three porters accidentally find themselves on a poster of vasectomy and are made fun of by friends and family. The film tells the story of how these three men fight against the system who caused this confusion.
Sunny Deol plays the role of a retired army man who is obsessed with taking selfies. Bobby Deol plays a bumbling school teacher and Shreyas Talpade plays a recovery agent. All three of these have their moments in the film and sometimes stick to crass comedy to get a few laughs. The acting and production value looks like that of a school play which has a really good script.
Shreyas Talpade does a good job as a first time director and knows what his actors are good at. He realizes that the film is not a smart one and has fun with the concept. The dialogues are full of references to the actors’ previous films which will get a chuckle out of the audience but the script, though entertaining, is quite predictable. The build up to the climax and the climax itself is fun and the movie doesn’t become a dramatic one at any point.
Verdict: 'Poster Boys' is an out an out comedy and is made for the masses. It is not an intelligent film and does not disguise itself as one. If you enjoyed the marathi version or if you like films that do not force you to think much, this film is definitely for you.
