Paisa Vasool is the story of a gangster hired by the RAW agents to finish off a dreaded mafia boss. Bob Marley this Mafia don operates from and controls Hyderabad remotely using his agents. Unable to bear the atrocities of Bob Marley, India's premier intelligence agency RAW Chief looks for a self-proclaimed criminal through a local IPS Officer ACP Kiranmayi, she finds a deadly gangster Theda Singh who's just been released from Tihar Jail just at that time.
Meanwhile, Singh gets himself an accommodation in the neighborhood of a young lady named Harika who is in search of her missing sister Sarika, in Portugal. Harika lodges a complaint regarding this with the authorities, leading to her safety being threatened by Bob Marley’s associates in Hyderabad.
Theda Singh always protects her from them, so she starts to develop feelings for him. Suddenly, the RAW authorities are in for a shock when they realize that Theda Singh is not what he appears to be, he has recently landed from Portugal. Harika also comes to know that Sarika was murdered in Portugal and the killer is non-other than Theda Singh. Who is this Theda Singh? What are his motives? And how he finally or if he finally brings the end for Bob Marley form the rest of the story.
Paisa Vasool received generally positive reviews for its entertainment values and Balakrishna's performance. He also sang a song Maama Ek Peg Laa which became an instant chartbuster. But the direction and routineness of the story are criticised. Paisa Vasool is termed as an above average grosser at the box office.
