Pad Man Story

Laxmikant Chauhan is happily married to Gayatri and would do anything for her wife's comfort and happiness. Once during her menstrual periods, Gayatri is banished from temporarily from the household. This catches Laxmi's attention as he was unaware of the matter. Laxmi gets worried after seeing Gayatri using a dirty rag during her periods and confronts her regarding this but Gayatri asks him to not interfere in this feminine matter. Laxmi then buys sanitary pads from a medical store and hands it over to Gayatri, but Gayatri asks him to return the costly pad. Laxmi was unable to return the pad so he leaves to work; there a worker gets injured. Laxmi immediately uses a pad to stop the bleeding, despite others constant calling it as impure. In the Hospital, doctor praises Laxmi's quick action and tells him that it is the cleanest way to stop bleeding.
Thinking of a better replacement for costly pads, Laxmi buys some cotton, cloth and glue and succeeds in making a temporary pad and gives it to Gayatri. But the pad fails to do its job, and Gayatri again tells him to leave this matter. Unsatisfied Laxmi tries to make pad again and again but is always despised by the society and family. Eventually, Gayatri leaves him and Laxmi also decides to leave the village with a pledge to fight the taboo against menstruation. Will Laxmi succeed in his mission form the rest of the plot!
Pad Man received mostly positive responses and the audience appreciated the script and acting of the cast. Pad Man was made on a budget of 20 crores and collected 120 crores at the box office. The movie also received warm opening and responses a the overseas box offices.
