Sakhavu Kochaniyan is a fervent leftist revolutionary who was the torchbearer of SFY in the Maharajas College. In a turn of events, he was betrayed by a fellow comrade and was killed by police. Staying true to the ideology he believed in, he breathed his last shout the phrase Inquilab Zindabad.
In the mid- 2000s, in the backdrop of the same college which is now run by KSQ, another story begins. Paul, a typical student from Thrissur joins Maharajas. He soon makes friends with Subhash, Joby, and Krishnan and falls in love with Anu. Subhash who is a strong communist believer tries to form the student wing at the college challenging the dominance of KSQ with help of his friends.
Paul, who was apolitical, get influenced by the strong ideology of Subhash and Krishnan and he inadvertently becomes the face of SFY in the college.
Oru Mexican Aparatha won considerable critical favor and grossed Rs. 2.07 Crore on the opening day itself. Tovino Thomas' performance in the film as Paul and Kochaniyan won him praises. The film ran over 100 days at the theatres.
