Ohm Shanthi Oshaana Story

17-year-old Pooja Mathew, daughter of Dr. Matthew Devasya, is a carefree, happy-go-lucky tomboy. To avoid getting married to a stranger her parents find, Pooja thinks she should find someone for herself. She initially settles on Yardley, a popular boy in her school. But then she finds herself infatuated towards a much older Giri who saves her from a couple perverts whom she picked up a fight for teasing her friends.
Pooja tries her best to get the attention of Giri. She finds out that he is a part-time farmer, a Kung Fu teacher. She also finds out that her cousin David is friends with Giri and approaches him for help as well. She finally decides to go ahead and propose Giri. But Giri rejects Pooja and tells her that she is only a kid and she needs to concentrate on the studies. Although heartbroken, she manages to concentrate on her studies and gets admission for MBBS at Kozhikode medical college. Pooja tries to contact Giri before she moves to Kozhikode but learns that he is in China on a Kung Fu Academy trip.
During the final year, Pooja meets Giri again when his mother gets admitted in the same hospital where she is practicing. A mature Pooja takes care of his mother, secretly hoping to impress Giri. After completing studies, Pooja comes back to stay with her parents and help Giri in social and community activities only to find out that Giri is engaged with her friend Sreelakshmi. But David elopes with Sreelakshmi and later, Pooja confess her love to Giri again. This time Giri tells her that he had loved her all along. The film ends happily as Pooja and Giri start a happy life together.
Om Shanthi Oshaana is arguably one of the best Malayalam romcoms ever. The film marked the directorial debut of Jude Anthany Joseph who is now a popular actor-director in Malayalam.
