Directed by Kamaleswar Mukherjee, Khawto is an erotic thriller that revolves around Nirbed Lahiri, a popular novelist and columnist, who had lived a colorful life in his time. Sohag and Rishav went to vacate in Koelphuli to spend some quality time away from the hustle and bustle of the city. They cross roads with celebrated writer Nirbed Lahir, who is living in exile in his isolated cottage away from the society for two decades now. Nirbed narrates the story of his own life that involves love, lust, and adulteration.
The story starts when Nirbed, who is married to Srijita found his muse in Antara, Srijita’s old friend from her University days. Antara, who used to be a carefree girl from a rich background, is now married to a poor and unemployed Alokesh. Initially, Nirbed forced Antara to have a physical relationship with him but soon Antara confesses her feelings for the man.
Soon, a series of events lead them to get into an extramarital relationship. They continued their infidelity in a trip where Srijita found out the truth. Things get worse when Alokesh come to know the truth and commit suicide. However, the film ends with a twist at the end.
