The Great Father Story

Shaam, a police officer who has been investigating a series of child abuse and murder cases gets killed by the culprit who identifies himself as Joker.  The cases are then transfered to officer Andrews Eappan from the Crime Investigation Department. 

Meanwhile, Sarah David, the 10-year-old daughter of a well-known builder named David Nainan and Dr. Michelle David, gets attacked by the Joker. After recovering, Sarah reveals to her father that it was a joker who attacked her. Both David and Michelle decide to find the joker and to kill him in order to save the other girls who might suffer a similar fate as their daughter. David starts his own investigation.

Officer Andrews, however, becomes suspicious of David Nainan. He discovers that Nainan's daughter was also attacked by the Joker. Meanwhile, both of them soon starts getting calls from Joker and develops a competition among themselves. In the end, Joker attacks Eepan but David Nainan manages to overpower and kill him. 

The Great Father which marked the directorial debut of Haneef Adeni is a stylish thriller. The film took the box office by storm despite the average reviews from part of the critics.
