Meda Meeda Abbayi Review & Rating|
Allari Naresh is back this time with the remake of Malayalam super hit 'Oru Vaddakan Selfie' and he lives up to his role. Infact, if you think, Naresh can only tickle your bones all the time, his balanced performance in this one will show another side of him. Though it has been a remake, there were many opportunities where a few plots could have been written more interestingly. It fell flat at many places, though there was enough scope to entertain.
Srinu (Allari Naresh) is a careless and aimless engineering student who is waiting to clear his 24 backlogs and is accompanied by his friends who are equally aimless as him. In walks Sruthi (Nikhila) as his neighbour and Srinu immediately falls for her. Srinu keeps telling fake stories to his friends about him and her. Much to the surprise of everyone, Sruthi elopes from her home and at the same time Srinu too runs away to realise his dream of becoming a director. What happens after this is something we would leave for you to watch. The story takes a number of turns after a point and from a comedy movie that it started to be, ends as a serious drama.
Allari Naresh was completely in his elements and has even surprised us with his balanced act. Though the scenes from the Malayalam version have been shot frame to frame, the director could have made the remake version a bit more interesting. Nikhila was not very convincing as a heartbroken. His friends, Hyper Aadi, Satyam Rajesh and Srinivas Avasarala in the role of detective Yugandhar were pretty impressive. The music was also copied without any changes from the original. However, the cinematography by Kunjunni S Kumar did have an impact.
Verdict: If you are not looking for a routine run of the mill films and not expecting Allari Naresh to jump around like a clown, then this movie can be given a shot. With some unique story telling that not many of Allari Naresh's movies carried, this is a one-time watch movie.

What is it about?
Allari Naresh is all ready to give us a jolly ride with his latest outing 'Meda Meeda Abbayi.' The movie which is the official remake of Malayalam super hit 'Oru Vaddakan Selfie' has Nikhila Vimal as the female lead. It has been directed by G Prajith who also directed the original. It tells the story of a carefree guy who lands in a series of troubles after taking a selfie with his much-admired neighbour in a train journey and sends it to his friend pointing her to be his girlfriend.
What to expect?
- A good dose of comedy
Known for his comical acts and going by the subject, the movie looks to be an interesting comical ride for the audience. With 'Hyper' Aadi, who gained decent fame with his punch lines in the comedy show 'Jabardasth' also contributing to the writing department, it looks like the movie will be a laughter riot.
- Shaan Rahman's music
Not many people have observed but Shaan Rahman, who also scored the music for the original film has come out with a good musical album and this will definitely stand out with the visuals.
- A fresh narrative
Unlike Allari Naresh previous movies which were too loud on comedy, this movie looks to carry a decent dose of comedy in a subtle manner. With what looks like a fresh screenplay, Allari Naresh, Prajith and team look to have delivered a decent film.
The movie is hitting the screens on September 8 and keep watching this space for complete Meda Meeda Abbayi reviews. We will also update you with the public response to Meda Meeda Abbayi.
