MCA (Middle Class Abbayi) Review & Rating|
Nani's MCA movie has been one of the most awaited movies of the year as he teamed up with his Nenu Local movie producer Dil Raju for the second time in 2017. Their first collaboration was a huge hit and the movie became career biggest hit of Nani. Now, as they come together for the second time, they have Sai Pallavi the current sensation of Tollywood, as the heroine. With lots of positive factors in the cast and crew, the movie has finally hit the screens today. Thanks to all the hype, the movie released in a record number of screens for Nani's film and the advance bookings for the film also are super strong. But, will the movie live up to all these expectations, can it continue the success streak of Nani and Dil Raju or it turns out to be a speed breaker? Let's find out in MCA movie review.
Nani plays a middle-class guy Nani and he stays with his sister in law (Bhumika) in Warangal. He falls in love with Chinni (Sai Pallavi) and lives a happy life. But one day his sister in law, who works in a government office lands in trouble. The rest of the story is all about Nani saving his sister in law from the villain and his deadly gang.
Nani once again impresses with his natural acting and delivers a commendable performance as a middle-class guy. Though his role is not so well written, with his comic timing and screen presence, Nani tries his best to save the film. The way he carried the entire film on his shoulders especially in the second half speaks volumes about his talent. On the other hand, Sai Pallavi is a treat to watch and continues her terrific form and picks it from where she left it in Fidaa. Her screen presence is terrific and her romantic scenes with Nani came out very well. She has utilized her dancing skills and her performance in Evandoi Nani Garu song is superb. Bhumika who is making her comeback to Tollywood after a while gets a meaty role and performs well. She once again proves what a fine performer she is and does complete justice to her role. Naresh, Aamani, Rajeev Kanakala and others were okay in their roles.
Production Values of Sri Ventakeswara Creations banner are top notch and the film looks quite lavish on screen. Sameer Reddy's cinematography is one of the major highlights of the film and he captures the beauty of Warangal very well. Editing by Prawin Pudi is just about okay and he should've chopped off few scenes in the second half. Music by Devi Sri Prasad is a big let down and it can be said that this is one of the weakest albums in his career. He does a decent job with his background score though. Dialogues are written well. Venu Sriram who struggled a lot to get the opportunity to direct his second film doesn't utilise it properly. He chooses a routing and predictable script and fails miserably in the execution part.
Verdict: A mediocre commercial entertainer with a dragged second half.

What Is It About?
Nani is in the best phase of his career with back to back hits and he teamed up with producer Dil Raju for the second time in 2017. Venu Sriram who earlier directed Oh My Friend was supposed to do a film with Ravi Teja, which later got shelved. He later narrated a new story which Nani accepted and that is how MCA movie was started. Sai Pallavi who became famous with her first Telugu Fidaa is the female lead of this movie. Bhumika Chawla who once ruled Tollywood is making her comeback with a crucial role in the film. Nani will be seen as a middle-class guy in the film and thus the film was titled MCA - Middle Class Abbayi.
What To Expect?
- Superb Performances:
With talented actors like Nani and Sai Pallavi in the lead roles and Bhumika, Rajeev Kanakala, Naresh, Aamani in supporting roles, we can expect stellar performances from the film. Especially Nani is top form and he is proving his worth as an actor with every film he does and on the other hand Sai Pallavi has impressed with her acting skills in her first film itself. The team has been saying that Bhumika Chawla's role has got a lot of prominence in the film and if it is so we can expect a solid performance from her. The film also boasts of Naresh and Aamani who can take the movie to the next level with their screen presence and performances.
- Wholesome Entertainment:
From the glimpses we saw in the trailer and teasers, the film looks like a wholesome entertainer with commercial elements. The family emotions seem to be the major highlight of the film and even the romantic track between Nani and Sai Pallavi seems very entertaining. As we have seen in many Dil Raju's films, the film is packed with a lot of talented actors and the basic storyline is simple so that all sections of the audience can understand. As we all know Nani's comedy timing is impeccable and with some fine comedians like Racha Ravi, Priyadarshi we can expect superb comedy in the film. And few shots from the trailer promise that there are enough heroism elevation scenes to satisfy the mass audience and Nani's fans. All in all, MCA seems to be a proper entertainer.
- Movie With Good Technical Values:
MCA has talented crew apart from some talented cast. The film has music by one of the best music directors in South India, Devi Sri Prasad. He was also the music director of Nani's Nenu Local and it won't be an exaggeration to say that his music played an important role in the film's success. His music for MCA is already ruling the charts and his BGM can be another highlight of the film. Sameer Reddy who is known for capturing the visuals beautifully worked as the cinematographer and he seems to have captured the beauty of Warangal city perfectly. The film also has good technicians like Editor Prawin Pudi, Lyricist Chandrabose and above all producer Dil Raju.
