Oru Kuttanadan Blog Review & Rating

Oru Kuttandan Blog which marks the directorial debut of noted screenwriter Sethu is one of the highly anticipated Mammootty movies of the season. Apart from Mammootty, the film has Sanj Sivaram, Sunny Wayne, Anu Sithara, Rai Laxmi, Shmna Kassim, Nedumudi Venu, and Siddique among others. Read Oru Kuttanadan Blog review below to find out more about the film.

Hari, a middle-aged man, returns from abroad to settle down permanently in village Krishnapuram in Kuttanadu.  While the news of his return is welcomed with excitement by the youngsters of his village who has saught Hari's help and advice in many instances, many are equally irked by it, too. Hari, however, doesn't care too much about other people's opinion and goes around minding his own business and often running to troubles. His affluence among women, especially his close affinity a few women in the region, raise eyebrows and it leads him to more bigger troubles.

One thing which cannot be overlooked about Oru Kuttanadan Blog is Mammootty's luminous screen presence and his ever-youthful charisma. Although the cast, including the leading ladies Anu Sithara and Shmna Kassim, delivers an easing performance, there is very little else about the film, that makes it a compelling watch. A few good laughs in the first half, some references to megastar's celebrated films, a barely believable story set against a pristine village backdrop and a few enjoyable songs by Sreenath Shivashankaran, that is all there to this Sethu directorial.

Final Verdict: A strict one-time watch.

Oru Kuttanadan Blog Live Updates & Public Talk

Mammootty's Oru Kuttanadan Blog which was initially titled as Kozhi Thankachan is finally hitting theatres today putting an end to the long wait of Mammootty fans. The film, which is set in Kuttanadu, is touted to be about Hari who has a bad reputation but is the life of his village. While Mammootty plays the lead role, Anu Sithara, Rai Laxmi, Shamna Kassim, Siddique, Nedumudi Venu, and Sanju Sivaram forms the part of the supporting cast. Let's have look at how movie buffs are finding it at the theatres.

The initial reports from the theatres are largely disappointing. The seems to be next one in the list megastar's flop movie which is sans any impressive element other than his ever-youthful charisma and astounding screen presence. While most of the audience rate the first half as slightly before average they are unanimous that the whole film is little above the below-average category. Here are more responses.

The audience is particularly critical about Sethu's direction which they found to be of poor taste. The only elements which deserve a mention, according to viewers, are the music by Sreenath Shivashankaran and the visuals by Pradeep Nair. Although the initial reactions are largely unfavorable to the film, there are a few good reactions coming in.

In short, Oru Kuttanadan Blog would be another one of those Mammootty movies which may please the family audience to an extent and therefor survive at the box office without actually sinking without a trace.

What To Expect From Oru Kuttandan Blog?

Mammootty's Performance In Yet Another Human-size Role

Oru Kuttanadan Blog has Mammootty in the role of a simpleton from a village called Krishanapuram in Kuttanadu. His character Hari, despite having a negative image in the village, is loved and looked up to by the people who know him. From the trailer, it looks like Hari doesn't care too much about his bad reputation and it doesn't stop him from doing what he wants. Although except for Rajakumaran from Pullikaran Starra which doesn't, in fact, qualifies to have mentioned, all of megastars' movies including the very recent Abrahaminte Santhathikal had him essaying the masculine hero roles. It would be indeed a treat for the audience if Mammootty's Hari really turns out be a solid character.

Three Leading Ladies To Steal The Show

It is three leading actresses the director has roped in as the leading ladies of the film. While Rai Laxmi essays the role of Hari's childhood friend who suddenly makes a comeback to his life, Anu Sithara appears in the role of Hema. Shamna Kassim, in her stylish short hair avatar, handles the role of a fierce police officer who newly takes charge in Krishnapuram.  It would be thrilling to see these fine actresses coming together to share the screen space with none other than Mammootty.

A Stellar Cast

Apart from Mammootty and the three leading ladies, Oru Kuttandan Blog cast features some of the popular and finest actors in the industry including Siddique, Nedumudi Venu, Thesni Khan, Ponnamma Babu, Lalu Alex, and Balaji Sharma. A bevy of young actors like Sanju Sivaram, Jacob Gregory, Sohan Seenulal, Vivek Gopan, Nandhan Unni, Jaise Jose, Shaheen Siddique, and Jude Anthany Joseph also appears in the lead roles. One doesn't need an assurance to look out for some great performances in the film.

An Engaging Tale Against The Backdrop Of Kuttanadu

Oru Kuttanadan Blog is set in the backdrop of a lush green village with backwaters and paddy fields. The film, as per the reports, progresses through a blog written by an aspiring writer in Krishnapuram and narrates some interesting incidents takes place in the village revolving around Hari. Promising isn't it?
