Kootathil Oruthan Review

The film is a clean entertainer with a much needed social message. In a nut shell, it about an average guy, who has always been ignored ever since his childhood, reaches a position which he always dreamt of. 'Kootathil Oruthan' tells the story in an interesting way despite following the routine template of how love transforms an ordinary man to into inspiring achiever. 

Although 'Kootathil Oruthan' begins like a light-hearted entertainer, it turns into a docudrama in the last 20-minutes, when it tries to give a social message. Like most template driven movies, it loses its track once romance enters into a serious tale. 

First-time director T.J Gnanavel comes up with in an entertaining story about a youngster who carries inferiority complex all his life until love happens one day. From there on, his continuous efforts to impress the girl eventually lead him to achieve something substantial in life. Ashok Selvan, as an average middle-bencher gives a decent performance so does Priya Anand, his ladylove in the film.
