Khakee Review & Rating|
'Khakee' starring Karthi and Rakul Preet in the lead roles has hit the screens today amidst decent buzz. After the debacle of 'Cheliyaa', can Karthi make a comeback with this film? Let's see. The story is based on the real-life incidents that took place in Indian during the time period of 1995-2005. Set in the 1990s, the story starts with serial robberies and murders that happen across the country, but the police have no idea of who is behind those incidents. At this Dheeraj (played by Karthi), who is a tough cop, takes up this case and the rest of the story is how he finds out the gang behind those robberies and murders.
Coming to performances, it is a one-man show from Karthi. RIght from looks, body language, dialogue delivery everything looks so perfect as a police officer. He has put in a lot of hard work for this movie and his efforts are quite evident on the screen. He never goes overboard in any of the scenes but stays close to the reality. Rakul Preet is okay in her role and looks wise she is too good in this movie. Abhimanyu, Bose Venkat, and others did justice to their roles.
Technically 'Khakee' is one of the most brilliant movies of 2017. Camerawork by Sathyan Sooryan is extra ordinary especially he did a great job in capturing the scenes in Rajasthan perfectly. Background score by Ghibran is one of his best in his career as he elevates crucial action and chase sequences to next level. Credit must go to H Vinoth for choosing a realistic approach though the story has a potential to be commercial cop-drama. The amount of detailing he gives and the way he showcases the reality of Police department must be appreciated.
Verdict: Karthi and team serve a perfect cop drama, go for it.

khakee, which got released with huge expectations was received positively by the audience. Khakee is a high voltage action flick with a good screenplay. Director handled the story with perfection and made it clear for the audience. Coming to the performances Krathi acted well in the serious cop role Dheeraj. Rakul looks were cute with settled performance. Though the songs were not that good, background score was good. The love track between the Karthi and Rakul are the minus for the film which made the movie a bit dull. Camera work by Sathyan Sooryan is top notch as he brings the 90’s effect in an effective manner. Good movie for those who love action flicks with some gripping screenplay and those who expect commercial elements its better to stay away.
I am not a die-hard Karthi fan but went to see Khakee with big expectations hoping that it’d be along the lines of BigB’s Bollywood flick with the same title. I must confess that though it wasn’t a remake but wasn’t disappointed either watching it. Rakul wasn’t needed but was ok. Despite being a dubbed version of the Tamil film, Khakee impresses. Should be a decent watch if you are an action freak.
Khakee is adequately made COP drama which will surely impress the crime and action film lovers. Director Vinoth showcased lot of facts that how a real life of police would be in practical terms. Intense and good cop drama made with huge and uninteresting violence aspects. @ http://www.apnewscorner.com/news/news_detail/details/16890/latest/Khakee-Telugu-Movie-Review-Karthi-impresses-Action-film-lovers-though-with-a-drag.html
