Story: Rajeev Ravi
Krishnan, who works in a security firm in Mumbai, immediately sets off to his hometown in Kerala after his receives a call from his childhood friend Ganga who is in trouble. During the journey he recalls his childhood in Kammattipaadam spent with Ganga, Balettan, Venu and other. All of them were quite familiar with violence from a very young age and they start working as goons for a local businessman whom they call Aashan. In one of the fights, Krishan kills a police officer while trying to save Ganga.
By the time Krishnan comes out of Jail, the gang is more advanced. Meanwhile, he also discovers that Ganga is planning to marry Anitha, whom he loves. Balettan, the elder in the gang, gets killed in an accident for which Ganga blames Krishan. It creates a rift in their friendship.
Krishnan later starts a travel agency as wished by Balettan and Ganga remains a thug. The gang finds out that it is Johny one of their enemies that planned Balettan's murder. The enraged Ganga stabs Johny which pushes all of them to trouble with the police. Krishnan gets arrested and later relocates to Mumbai while Ganga marries Anitha and stays in Kammatipaadam.
Krishnan, after returning to Kammatipaadam, tries to find out about Ganga. He is informed that it could be Johnny behind Ganga's problem and he beats up all of Johnny's men and he gets stabbed by Johnny's brother. Meanwhile, Ganga is murdered and his body has been found. Heartbroken, Ganga seeks the help of Aashan who is now a big business shot. But he learns that it is Aashan himself who killed Ganga.
Kammatipaadam directed by Rajeev Ravi won four awards at the 47th Kerala State Film Awards, including Best Actor, Best Supporting Actor, Best Art Director, and Best Film Editing. The movie won rave reviews and attained considerable success at the box office.
