Cast: Jiiva as Srinivas aka Seenu, Jai as Raghu, Shiva as Ganesh, Catherine Tresa as Hema (Srinivas' love interest), Nikki Galrani as Aishwarya (Raghu's love interest), Radha Ravi as the police inspector, Yogi Babu as Bhagawan, Satish as Gopal (Hema's brother), and Rama Prabha as Srinivas' grandmother. 

Kalakalappu 2 is not an exact sequel for the 2012 super hit Kalakalappu but it is a spiritual sequel. Raghu tries to kill his father for not taking good care of his family. At that time, he comes to know that he owns an ancestral property in Kasi. It was given as lease almost 100 years ago. 

At the same time, an IT raid takes place in a minister's house. The minister has no choice, so he hands over the laptop containing his property details to his auditor. But the auditor now demands R. 5 crores to hand over the laptop.

In Kasi, Raghu understands that the ancestral property is in the hands of good but unsuccessful Srinivas. The business he is doing is not prospering. Then it is shown that both Seenu and Raghu have been cheated by Ganesh. They move to Karaikudi to get hold of Ganesh and get back their money. Meanwhile, the minister starts his journey to get back the laptop. How Raghu and Seenu get back their money and how the minister gets back the laptop forms the rest of the story. 

Kalakalappu received positive reviews from the critics when released and the movie was a commercially successful venture. The performances of the lead actors and the entertaining plot are well received.
