Gagan, played by Bellamkonda Sreenivas, is a devoted son of Chakravarthy, Played by Sarath Kumar who is a wealthy person in the town. Janaki played by Rakul Preeth Singh, is a sweet girl from the same college as Gagan. She gradually develops interest and falls for Gagan eventually. Chakravarthy also likes Janaki very much. But Janaki's father Jayaprakash rejects Gagan as the reputation of Chakravarthy's family is not up to his standards. Janaki is forced to marry to Ashwath Narayana Varma's son. What are the consequences Janaki faced in her life after her marriage what Gagan did to save Janaki from Ashwath Narayana Varma's enemies is what the rest of the movie is all about.
Jaya Janaki Nayaka is an out-and-out Boyapati Srinu film with an interval bang that is completely true to his style. It's difficult for a movie to fail at the box office when Boyapati Srinu is the director. Boyapati mark action episodes have been shot well. The director’s mark is established and continues impress right from the opening scene itself.
Rakul is simply terrific and does a fine job as playful buddy and troubled woman. Her character, Janaki, is the pivot for the entire film. It's a challenging role and she succeeds in performing the role. Devi Sri Prasad's music is a huge asset for the movie and raises the appeal of the film. Pragya Jaiswal of Kanche fame has a cameo role and she impresses us. Different elements of the film cater to different segments of the audience.
