Ippadai Vellum Review

'Ippadai Vellum' starring Udayanidhi Stalin and Manjima Mohan released today in around 400 screens worldwide which is a decent release for medium budget flicks. Comin to the story, as one would expect from Gaurav Narayanan, it is about a middle-class guy Madhusudhan who works as a software employee and aims to achieve something big in his life. An unforeseen incident takes place in his life which brings a drastic change in his calm and peaceful life. Now, what's that incident, how he faces it must be seen on the big screen.

Coming to performances, Udayanidhi Stalin did a great job this time, he is improving his performance levels with each film and this time he will surely impress everyone. The way he showcases different emotions perfectly without going over the top is impressive. Comedian Soori, on the other hand, is seen in a different role which has an emotional angle to it. He got enough screen time as well. Manjima Mohan does a decent job in her author backed role and all other supporting characters did well to take the movie to next level.

Technical team of 'Ippadai Vellum' did a great job especially the cinematographer Richard M Nathan and music director D Imman. Visuals of the film are quite rich and neat and background score by D Imman is terrific. Praveen KL, the editor of the film did a decent job. Coming to the director Gaurav, he did a great job as a writer and a fair job as a director. Had he concentrated more on the execution part, the film would've been a perfect thriller.

Verdict: A near-perfect thriller with some engaging moments.
