What’s it about…
‘Indu Sarkar’ is director Madhur Bhandarkar’s take on India’s Emergency period between 1975 and 1977 declared by the then Prime Minister of India Indira Gandhi. The film is partially a work of fiction as well as real based incidents which set up the story of a timid, stammering poet by the name of Indu who faces a life of hard knocks due to the Emergency. It also portrays the incidents and outcry of people and political parties who opposed it.
