Hello reveived very positive reviews on its release and Akihil's comeback is hailed as just perfect. Heroine Kalyani Priyadarshan's performance also received good words so are Ramya Krishnan and Jagapathi Babu's. But the movie failed to transform the positive reviews into its box office performance. But those who watched the film generally liked it but with comments such as too many coincidences. Though the action sequences are said to be top class, they are seen as unnecessary padding to the film.
