Hello Guru Prema Kosame Review & Rating

Ram and Anupama have teamed up once again after Unnadi Okate Zindagi, for yet another youthful entertainer titled Hello Guru Prema Kosame. Directed by Trinadha Rao Nakkina of Nenu Local fame, the film has hit the screens today. Will this film become a comeback film for Ram, Anupama and the producer Dil Raju? Let's find out.

Plot:

Sanju (Ram), is a happy-go-lucky youngster who stays in Kakinada with his family. Due to some family issues, he moves to Hyderabad and joins a software company as a trainee. He lives with Viswanath (Prakash Raj) on her mother's suggestion. Soon, they both become good friends. On the other hand, Ram falls for Reethu (Pranitha Subhash), his colleague. just when everything seems fine, he meets Anupama (Anupama Parameswaran). They both fall in love with each other. What Sanju does to win his true love forms the rest of the story.

Performances:

Ram who was not at his best in his previous 2 films has come up with a great performance this time. He is at ease with his comedy timing in the first time and also did an exceptional job in the latter part. He also concentrated on his styling and looks this time and looked perfect as a carefree youngster who is at a crucial phase in his life. The reason his role clicks well is that of the relatability factor among the youth. Ram's chemistry with both the heroines looked on spot and just like in Unnadi Okate Zindagi, his pairing with Anupama Parameswaran was superb.

His combination with Prakash Raj also worked in the favor of the film. Speaking about Prakash Raj, he gets a very different role which has multiple shades of a friend, a neighbor, and a responsible father and as expected, he has done full justice to the role. His equation with Ram and Anupama is superb and also been showcased beautifully.

Anupama Parameswaran also played the girl-next-door role to perfection. As mentioned earlier, her chemistry with Ram Pothineni was a treat to watch. It is good to see her shaking a leg finally, after half a dozen films. Pranitha Subhash got a decent role with a limited screen presence and she was okay in her role.

Technical Team:

Devi Sri Prasad and Ram worked together for 6 films till now and most of the films had chartbuster songs irrespective of the film's result. But that is not the case with Hello Guru Prema Kosame. The songs are mediocre and though they look good on screen, they come as speed breakers in the narration. Surprisingly, Devi Sri Prasad failed to give a good background score as well and this can be said as his weakest work in the recent past.

Vijay C Chakravarthy has captured the film beautifully and he deserves a special mention. Editing and art direction were okay. Production values by Dil Raju banner are just about okay and it is disheartening to see a top production house coming up with back to back lackluster films. Dialogues by Prasanna Kumar Bejawada stand out and he has done an amazing job with both funny and sentimental dialogues. However, some of his dialogues seem to be forcefully inserted into the conversations which looks a bit awkward.

Director Trinadha Rao Nakkina has proved his worth as a director by scoring two superhits Cinema Choopistha Mama and Nenu Local. With Hello Guru Prema Kosame too, he sticks to his basics and comes up with a storyline which focuses on the Son-in-law and Father-in-law relationships. Like his previous two films, he etches out an entertaining second half focusing on them. As a director, he did his best to make the film as much entertaining as possible. Though a bit of melodrama peeks in, he focuses on the comedy in the film and makes Hello Guru Prema Kosame bearable.

Final Word:

Hello Guru Prema Kosame is a decent film if not a great one. If you are okay with a routine storyline and want to watch a light-on-heart entertainer with a good dosage of comedy, go for it.
